O NIGHT, ABIDING - PLACE of poets and of lovers and of
singers,
O Night, where shadows dwell with spirits and with visions,
O Night, enfolder of our longing, our desire, our memory,
Vast giant standing betwixt the dwarfed evening clouds and
the brides of dawn,
Girt with the sword of awe, crowned with the moon, and
garmented with silence;
Who gazes with a thousand eyes into the depths of life,
And listens with a thousand ears to the sighs of…

About "I Me Mine"
From the original Beatles Album "Let It Be" (1970)
GEORGE 1980: "'I Me Mine' is the ego problem. I looked around and everything I could see was relative to my ego. You know, like 'that's my piece of paper,' and 'that's my flannel,' or 'give it to me,' or 'I am.' It drove me crackers-- I hated everything about my ego-- it was a flash of everything false and impermanent which I disliked. But later I learned from it-- to realize that there is somebody else…

I just wanted to open up a dialogue about the many prophecies of end times. The Mayans have 2012 the Hopi have the blue star and the Christians have the return of Christ. I have much confusion on this issue. I wonder why many have prophesied of the end? I feel like man has been trying to predict the end for many generations and many seem to think they were living in end times. Does anyone else out there feel like we are living in the end times now and why? Can others who may have knowledge of…

Hello Everyone,
This is from the first website I ever built- Writings of the Heart. It's been around for, oh...about eight years. Over that time, I added many of my writings, mostly poetry/prose. Actually, it's time I added some newer material. Anyway, Dare to Dream! is from Writings of the Heart. I hope it speaks to you in whatever way it's supposed to.
Love,…

I don't think lies originate from fear, I honestly think they are the result of ego.
I know people say lies are told due to an underlying fear of the consequences of telling the truth, and in some situations I am sure that is the case, but I think the biggest fear most people have is the fear of being found out. Not people finding out the truth behind their lie, so much as finding out the truth behind them.
So many people…

This poem by Thich Nhat Hanh embodies the essence of what he calls "interbeing," the innerconnectedness of all things.
Call Me b y My True Names
by Thich Nhat Hanh
From: Peace is Every Step: The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life by Thich Nhat Hanh
In Plum Village, where I live in France, we receive many letters from the refugee camps in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines, hundreds each week. It is very painful to read them, but we…

Fear brought me to Byron Katie in the first place. It brings many. I know that now. Fear once brought Katie, herself, into a prison of greed and rage and numbing drugs and foods. I still feel pain when I tell the story of her fear and the death she died because of it. Then, because of my pain, I know that my mind continues to seduce me into fears of my own. "Do The Work," Byron would say. "Uncover the lie and live in what is Real."
Fear is the belief that what is Real will harm us.…

Why can't we be diverse, why do we all have to be the same? One of the biggest problems in todays society, in my opinion, is the fear of accepting that we are all different.
The world would be a very dull and boring place if we were all the same. Thankfully we aren't all intellectuals, if we were who would be the navvies? Who would do the blue collar jobs if the whole world was made of artists?
Imagine a world with only…

Peace Thought Experiment:
What happens when Labor Notes are a norm and that country finds itself having to defend itself from invaders, God forbid?
This would be the only way Labor Notes (US dollars issued as paychecks to citizen workers) could be issued for Miltary means. The organizing principle is that efforts that are of the citizens themselves and for the same citizens, is an asset against which currency can be issued.
In the aftermath, citizens who…

Is peace obtained through fighting?
The moment we start fighting for peace we have already lost it.
Peace is something we work for. Peace is the result of an investment in Justice and order.
Peace is natural. Peace is the norm.
Anytime Humans are busy buying food at the market or seeing a movie, we are co-existing in peace. Peace is everywhere. If, God forbid, we saw people fighting at the supermarket, that would be unusual. When was the last time you saw two people…

The bud
stands for all things,
even for those things that don't flower,
for everything flowers, from within, of self-blessing;
though sometimes it is necessary
to reteach a thing its loveliness,
to put a hand on the brow
of the flower,
and retell it in words and in touch,
it is lovely
until it flowers again from within, of self-blessing.

Three Things to Teach
by Lao-Tzu
I have just three things to teach:
simplicity, patience, compassion.
These three are your greatest treasures.
At the center of your being
you have the answer;
you know who you are and
you know what you want.
The power of intuitive understanding
will protect you from harm until the
end of your days.
Be content with what you have;
rejoice in the way things…

Dear Friends,
We are at a wonderful crossroads of potential right now on our precious planet. For the first time in our collective history, we are capable and prepared to dream a different possibility for earth and all her many life forms. We have within us the balance of love, wisdom and power to bring forth a new reality filled with peace, health, harmony, abundance and genuine joy. Such is the influence we wield in our personal and shared lives.
The challenge we face is…

I think this webpage is a very good and well needed idea. It could be the catalyst for something great or it could be another passing fancy. What it will be is up to us. And no, I'm not affiliated with the page in any way, but like its creators, I've spent the majority of my adult life trying to understand the nature of humanity and reason we're here. I have no ability to believe in the concepts of God in the traditional sense, so I'm forced to place my faith in humanity. Again, the same…

The lotus flower is one of the most ancient and deepest symbols of our planet.
The lotus flower grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with remarkable beauty. At night the flower closes and sinks underwater, at dawn it rises and opens again. Untouched by the impurity, lotus symbolizes the purity of heart and mind. The lotus flower represents long life, health, honor and good luck. ( written by…

Oh misunderstood friend, Death
You're just as beautiful as sunset!
Be patient with those that do not yet see
all the splendor that begins with thee.
Be kind to those who fear you like a fool.
Gently help them see all of you.
For they are not yet, the sage that sings
with fearless heart, dancing on wind.
Guide us safely to balance and silence
to catch a glimpse of your truth.
Free us…

You taught I will never die the common way
That I’ve always been, always will be,
the essence of love and joy, just
Traveling in an ever changing shape .
You taught how beautiful death lives in every breath .
You taught me the secret ; suffering ,living and dying,
Surrendering
And it’s cause and effect.
You taught me to be compassionate ,loving and kind
And to always look through…

Loves grows silently
like the blossom on the ground,
like a rainbow,
born out of the storm
like
that moment ,
just before dawn
Love reaches
without bounds
feathers out and
stretches beyond words
lightly touching ready hearts to join
and sweetly whispering
to hearts asleep yet
Love waits , as spring does for winter
as mother does for child
as ocean…

I sit and reminisce
and admit
how I ran from you for years
looking for happiness
and bliss.
I hide from you in denial,
in tears
afraid of you
afraid to become you
afraid to acknowledge you
but for years you chased me,
patiently
and faithfully .
Always waiting for me to look at you
embrace you,
become you,
forever in my search for bliss,
I refused you.
Still…
