Byron Katie on Native Indian culture and the present moment--an excerpt from an early book

Fear brought me to Byron Katie in the first place. It brings many. I know that now. Fear once brought Katie, herself, into a prison of greed and rage and numbing drugs and foods. I still feel pain when I tell the story of her fear and the death she died because of it. Then, because of my pain, I know that my mind continues to seduce me into fears of my own. "Do The Work," Byron would say. "Uncover the lie and live in what is Real."

Fear is the belief that what is Real will harm us.… Continue

Diversity

Why can't we be diverse, why do we all have to be the same? One of the biggest problems in todays society, in my opinion, is the fear of accepting that we are all different.

The world would be a very dull and boring place if we were all the same. Thankfully we aren't all intellectuals, if we were who would be the navvies? Who would do the blue collar jobs if the whole world was made of artists?

Imagine a world with only… Continue

What happens when...

Peace Thought Experiment:

What happens when Labor Notes are a norm and that country finds itself having to defend itself from invaders, God forbid?

This would be the only way Labor Notes (US dollars issued as paychecks to citizen workers) could be issued for Miltary means. The organizing principle is that efforts that are of the citizens themselves and for the same citizens, is an asset against which currency can be issued.

In the aftermath, citizens who… Continue

Fighting for Peace?

Is peace obtained through fighting?

The moment we start fighting for peace we have already lost it.

Peace is something we work for. Peace is the result of an investment in Justice and order.

Peace is natural. Peace is the norm.

Anytime Humans are busy buying food at the market or seeing a movie, we are co-existing in peace. Peace is everywhere. If, God forbid, we saw people fighting at the supermarket, that would be unusual. When was the last time you saw two people… Continue

Relearning Loveliness ~Galway Kinnell

The bud

stands for all things,

even for those things that don't flower,

for everything flowers, from within, of self-blessing;

though sometimes it is necessary

to reteach a thing its loveliness,

to put a hand on the brow

of the flower,

and retell it in words and in touch,

it is lovely

until it flowers again from within, of self-blessing.

Lao Tzu

Three Things to Teach

by Lao-Tzu

I have just three things to teach:

simplicity, patience, compassion.

These three are your greatest treasures.

At the center of your being

you have the answer;

you know who you are and

you know what you want.

The power of intuitive understanding

will protect you from harm until the

end of your days.

Be content with what you have;

rejoice in the way things… Continue

Trust Unconditional Love

Dear Friends,

We are at a wonderful crossroads of potential right now on our precious planet. For the first time in our collective history, we are capable and prepared to dream a different possibility for earth and all her many life forms. We have within us the balance of love, wisdom and power to bring forth a new reality filled with peace, health, harmony, abundance and genuine joy. Such is the influence we wield in our personal and shared lives.

The challenge we face is… Continue

Our world in small

I think this webpage is a very good and well needed idea. It could be the catalyst for something great or it could be another passing fancy. What it will be is up to us. And no, I'm not affiliated with the page in any way, but like its creators, I've spent the majority of my adult life trying to understand the nature of humanity and reason we're here. I have no ability to believe in the concepts of God in the traditional sense, so I'm forced to place my faith in humanity. Again, the same… Continue

The Lotus by Swami Kriyananda

>

The lotus flower is one of the most ancient and deepest symbols of our planet.

The lotus flower grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with remarkable beauty. At night the flower closes and sinks underwater, at dawn it rises and opens again. Untouched by the impurity, lotus symbolizes the purity of heart and mind. The lotus flower represents long life, health, honor and good luck. ( written by… Continue

I love you , To Death ~ by me

Oh misunderstood friend, Death

You're just as beautiful as sunset!

Be patient with those that do not yet see

all the splendor that begins with thee.

Be kind to those who fear you like a fool.

Gently help them see all of you.

For they are not yet, the sage that sings

with fearless heart, dancing on wind.

Guide us safely to balance and silence

to catch a glimpse of your truth.

Free us… Continue

a prayer to Buddha ~ by me

You taught I will never die the common way

That I’ve always been, always will be,

the essence of love and joy, just

Traveling in an ever changing shape .

You taught how beautiful death lives in every breath .

You taught me the secret ; suffering ,living and dying,

Surrendering

And it’s cause and effect.

You taught me to be compassionate ,loving and kind

And to always look through… Continue

Universal Love Always Waits ~ by me

Loves grows silently

like the blossom on the ground,

like a rainbow,

born out of the storm

like that moment ,

just before dawn

Love reaches

without bounds

feathers out and

stretches beyond words

lightly touching ready hearts to join

and sweetly whispering

to hearts asleep yet

Love waits , as spring does for winter

as mother does for child

as ocean… Continue

untitled ~by me

I sit and reminisce

and admit

how I ran from you for years

looking for happiness

and bliss.

I hide from you in denial,

in tears

afraid of you

afraid to become you

afraid to acknowledge you

but for years you chased me,

patiently

and faithfully .

Always waiting for me to look at you

embrace you,

become you,

forever in my search for bliss,

I refused you.

Still… Continue

Until No More Sunrise by Me

I collapse into reality

a thousand pieces of me becoming the wind

illuminated

free

electricity

soaring through the cosmos

with you (and you and you and you)

colors of purple, silver, white and blue

stars ...

light .....

effortless flight ,

dissolving.

blending to whole again,

encompassing the skies ,

drifting

peacefully

Until i open my eyes ,

crash back into the… Continue

It just is

There is an ancient Chinese parable that goes a little like this:-

There was an old man living in a rural village who owned a very beautiful and well trained horse.

Everybody who saw the horse wanted it for their own, and before long, word about the magnificent animal had spread to the emperor, who promptly sent a messenger to the old man's village with a request to purchase the horse for an extremely large sum of money. The old man politely thanked the messenger but… Continue

Collective Thoughts for Peace

Collective thought has gotten us where we are-
if you believe thoughts are energy.
Turn those thoughts from dark to light,
and the light they produce will be brilliant.

Just wanted to set those animals FREE.

Hello,

There are new photos of the Brockton Fair on my page. Although I love the animals I visited, I was overcome with such a deep, profound sadness. The energy I surrounding me was almost surreal- I felt 'caged' as the animals were- so far removed from their natural elements. I didn't expect this feeling to be so strong, but it was. It may sound crazy, or 'out there', but that's okay because it's who I am. If you view my… Continue

10 PC STORAGE CONTAINER SET Pictures, Images and Photos

By Leslie Crawford

I admit it, I’m holier-than-thou when it comes to what I feed my six-year-old son, Sam. Organic everything, filtered water, wheat not white. In fact, I’d assumed that my record as a well-informed, health-conscious mother was just about impeccable. But then a chance conversation with my sister-in-law sent me into a tailspin.

“Knowing what I know… Continue
