I take the medications the doctors give me
yet my mind still lingers on horrors I have faced
I am not a drug addict, alcoholic or substance abuser
I am simply seeking relief from the grief
inflicted throughout my younger years
screamed in dreams and lost in tears
fought the demons for so many…

Grampa passed away on Valentines day (just this last Saturday). What gives me peace is that he got to spend Valentines Day with his wife, in heaven. As I was cleaning his livingroom yesterday for the many visitors to come, I found a Valentines Day card to Grampa from Grama. It made me smile, and I think my Grama was telling me that he was there with her.

Beauty is a burden
given to me
by my very handsome parents
nothing I've done
I learned from my Mommas life
that it caused more strife
than to be homely
even though it gives me power
I can't deny that
a worldly fact
every body want o be beautiful
on the outer shell
Hasn't worked for me so well
can I… Continue

I've heard newborn babies wailin' like a mourning dove
And old men with broken teeth stranded without love.
Do I understand your question, man, is it hopeless and forlorn?
Come in, she said, I'll give you shelter from the storm...
"Where there is no vision, the people perish."-Proverbs 29:18 - King James Version
The ancients understood that God spoke to them in their dreams and visions. The ancients told those…

I used to give ten dollars per payperiod to the United Way when I was working at the hospital. I know, it's only ten dollars, but that's a lot to me. My current employer does no such thing, and that saddens me. I can't talk to him, he treats me like a number, not a person. I wish there were a way for me to approach him with this idea. He's all about the non-profit vounteering, and offers us PTO days to volunteer. That's a good idea, too, but I want more options...
