All the Love I Need

Profile Information

About Me/Us:
Not always an easy life always, but an interesting one and getting better all the time. Now in my 7th decade, and after years of practice, now understanding and feeling what life can be: simple, happy; dealing with problems without them clobbering me! I guess that is called "Making Peace with Myself." That is the only place peace can happen in this world; within me, within each one of us.
Relationship Status:
Single
Movies
documentaries or based on true stories.
Television
Bravo stuff, Colbert, Jon Stewart, Letterman.
Music
Anything that really moves me, causes me to feel.
Heroes
Anyone who gets up each day and tries to face this edgy world. Takes courage. Also, not a hero but a friend and teacher is Prem Rawat/Maharaji because he showed me how to turn my senses inside and feel the beautiful "nothing" that gives me a break from "everything."

Images and Deeper Desires

I remember being about 12 years old sitting in church, looking at the statues, listening to the choir and feeling that life must be about something really, really important...that there must be something incredible I was supposed to know. I figured it must have been related to God, love, truth...the usual suspects!

I also remember feeling afraid, because I didn’t see those amazing ideals and concepts manifesting around me. I had a sense that no one was going to be able to help me. I would ask and the answers would be "just believe" or "it’s a mystery."

Worst of all: "After you die."

YIKES, you’re kidding? What a bummer for a little kid!

Don't mistake my point. I'm not anti-religion. That has it's place for some and it's a personal choice. What's being addressed here has no comparison to what religion teaches or offers. It's apples and oranges. Religion and faith simply didn't satisfy the deepest needs I felt inside. My memories of images like the one above are fond ones. That was something very inspiring when I was young. Some of the finest people I know practice a religion and since that never promised me a way to go within...no harm, no foul.

What I've found is that what was longed for all those years ago is indeed possible, that I wasn't just some nutty kid with larger than life fantasies.

I'm glad I never gave up looking and asking, because now I can swim in an ocean of answers. Now I can feel something, a practical experience, and with that...my longing is satisfied.

Prem Rawat’s message has been officially recognized and appreciated for a number of years in the western part of Taiwan. On May 23, 2009, Prem Rawat was granted the key to the beautiful, ancient capital of Tainan. In a talk that focused on Tainan’s history — as a religious and cultural capital of Taiwan and the site of the histor

One billion beliefs don’t hold a candle to one ‘know'

Prem Rawat recent comments at event near L.A.:

“One billion beliefs don’t hold a candle to one ‘know. What I want for all of you in your life is to know.”

Never straying far from his original and time-tested theme, he urged attendees to “take care of the essential in your existence. Build your tower on reality, and it will never fall down. What is your basic building block? In your worst moments do you remember the coming and going of your breath? If not, your house will fall.

“When you exper… Continue

The Myth of the Guru

"The thing about the guru in the West is that he represents an alien principle, namely, that you don’t follow your own path, you follow a given path. And that’s totally contrary to the Western spirit! Our spirituality is of the individual quest, individual realization--authenticity in your own life out of your own center. "

As someone who has chosen to have a "Guru" for almost 40 years of my life, this statement by Joseph Cambell, the great educator and author of The Power of Myth is very inter… Continue

Simpatetic your offer, musically speaking, thank you.
Music is something we offer to those we love, they seem to share fairly our love feelings agaisnt... towards I should say ... others.
We need, deeply, to sing our love to our brothers, Candice, and using sounds that moved our hearts, we know we are sharing our feelings.
Beautiful...
Because of love ... we are.

Dear Candice,
I was brought to your profile page by reading the comment you left on the blog: "How do we find peace with others who don't want to do things the peaceful way?"

I haven't had enough time to read all your blogs, but I've read enough to decide to ask you to be my friend. Even if you don't accept, you are my friend, because I have gained by seeing your comment and profile page. (It's up to you to decide if I am your friend...)
I also notice that - although you're active and giving - you're not a member of any group.
Now, I don't believe in joining groups just for the sake of, but I've found that groups are a handy tool for reaching others in a way that it's difficult to do just with your profile page, so I'd like you to visit the following groups, have a look around, and decide whether you'd like to join. They are all groups that mean a lot to me:
♥ ♥ ♥ PEACE ♥ for ♥ Women ♥ ♥ ♥ (This group is not restricted to women, but tries to deal with women's issues within the Peace Movement.)
The World March for Peace and Nonviolence
and – in case you understand Spanish – Sencillamente, Paz
A Story For Peace I just created this group last night, and you're the 2nd person I'm asking to join, so there's a lot of work to be done.
Now, ANYBODY can look at these groups, read all their content, and benefit from them. But to contribute, you have to join (MyPeace rules / technical set-up). And I would appreciate your contribution, because...
In Peace and Love,
Jimmy
