Profile Information

About Me/Us:
I am the author of I Never Held You, a book about miscarriage, healing and recovery, and Host of MiscarriageHelp.com- a support site for women & their families. Turning my own adveristy into something positive for others feeds my soul. I am also a singer, so-so piano player, and teach beginner/advanced beginner piano to over thirty students ranging in age from 5 to 17. They are a JOY! The music in the background, track one on my playlist,

Quest For Peace, is my mother's composition and playing. All six songs on my page were written and performed by her- Marlane T. DuBois. They seem to blend perfectly with the theme of MyPeace.TV. I hope you enjoy her music as much as I do, and so many others have.

My parents came out with a CD called "It's About Piano, It's About Time". Why the name? Well, it was 50 years in the making...50 years of talent...50 years until they finally saw their work on a professionally produced CD! If you enjoy my mother's pieces, they are available, along with my father's brilliant piano renditions of songs you've probably heard before, at this address: http://discark.com/en/products/view/548

Am I pitching my parents music? You bet. I love them and why not help out where and when I can?

Along with being a piano teacher, I am a singer who used to work with a GB Band, (General Business). Okay, I was much like the "Wedding Singer"... I loved it, and have some of my own musical mixings on my author site: ellendubois.com/music.html. They were all done at home and I'm self taught, so the mixing 'is what it is'- but I'm proud of what I've taught myself.

My fiance and I met in 1995 & live together with Baron, my buddy the Dachshund.
Relationship Status:
In a Relationship
Movies
I'm kind of corny on the movie and TV department: An Affair to Remember, Sleepless in Seattle, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sabrina, (really...anything Audrey Hepburn), The Christmas Story, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Father of the Bride, Harry Potter (all of them), The Shift starring Wayne Dyer.
Television
Ugly Betty, Psyche, Monk, Dancing With the Stars, Red Sox, PBS, HGTV, Travel Channel, Discovery Channel,
Music
I love most types of music and love creating music. Jazz, Blues- two of my favorites. Celtic, meditational, classic rock, classical- Just saw Pink Martini and they were fabulous! There's so much music I love- too much to name! Just sitting at the piano and playing is like a form of meditation for me- "...soothes the wild beast."
Books
Dr. Wayne Dyer, Silvia Brown, Robin Rice, Deepak Chopra, - Audio books are great because I can listen in my car or veg out when my eyes feel too tired to physically read. The Wisdom of Florence Scovel Schinn had a profound impact on my life years ago.
Heroes
God, Jesus, Buddah, Dali Lama, You- we are one. All who advocate peaceful solutions and peace - period.

My Sword, The Dove

Hello Everyone,

It's nice to be here...I'm so glad to have found PeaceTV. I look forward to meeting new people, making new friends and just being in this type of warm environment.

I'm a writer and miscarriage awareness advocate. I also teach piano to beginners/advanced beginners in a music studio called Rhapsody. Most of my students are between the ages of 6 and 10, with a few younger and a couple older ones- making for a diverse and often joyful experience. I love teaching kids and music? Well, it's huge part of my being, if you will. Actually, I have some of my very amature mixings, (vocals by yours truly) on my author site, http://ellendubois.com/music.html, if you feel like having a listen.

Anyway, after the attack on 9/11, I wrote a poem called My Sword The Dove. It was made into an ecard and I thought it would be an appropriate way to get started here and share in a message of peace, hope and healing. It's been in 'circulation' since 2002, and I'm honored it's still around. The message is timeless- as is peace.

Here's the URL to the e-greeting if you're so inclined:
My Sword The Dove by Ellen M. DuBois, published by AngelRays.

Blessings, Love and Light to you all-
Ellen

When I was in advertising sales, I often ran into the typical objection, "Nobody reads your publication. Why waste money on an ad nobody's going to see?"

While I understood this was their way of saying- I don't want to spend any money on advertising right now- I also knew my job. Not one who likes a combative approach, I'd usually end up in a conversation about business in general. My client would share how things just weren't like they used to be. The eighties were great, they'd… Continue

Yet You Say You Love?

Posted on August 28, 2009 at 5:50pm 3 Comments

You shun the man who has nothing-

shooting glares of disapproval across a crowded street.

Yet you say you Love?

You walk by the man in the gutter who is crying out for life, holding on by his fingernails to exist not knowing why.

Yet you say you Love?

You look at hungry children on television and wonder why they show such things without an ounce of compassion in your heart- not recognizing their vulnerability.

Yet you say you… Continue

Live Your Soul's Purpose Out Loud!

Posted on August 14, 2009 at 6:30pm 1 Comment

I stare blankly at the television,

my mind a thousand miles away.

The question tugs at me like

a child begging for ice cream-

What's my soul's purpose?

I've asked God a thousand times,

a thousand ways.

I've tried to read the signs,

find my flashlight.

All the while asking myself,

What's my soul's purpose?

Standing in line at the grocery store,

I notice the impatient, rolling eyes of

the woman in front of… Continue

Emerge

Posted on August 8, 2009 at 5:36pm 0 Comments

Emerge, to bring forth-

to gush out-

with raging force.

To change, to transform-

rising far

above

the norm.

Emerge, and find out

the taste of life-

what it's about.

To know yourself-

to follow through.

Find the path

that's right for you.

Emerge, blossom anew.

What's right for me?

What's right for… Continue

Hi cclay- Yes, I loved it. Actually, I saved it to remind me about my tone...Sometimes, it takes another to point out- it's not what you say, but how you say it.
