- Writer, editor and blogger; unabashed left-wing, bleeding heart liberal; ordained minister (do not adhere to any organized religion, but truthfully believe in Buddhism); active member of the GLBT community; married (since 2006; but with my partner for 17 years); mother of two (Thalia, 13 years old and Aaron, 8 years old); former corporate soldier now hanging out as a Starbucks barista (NOT my own choosing); have experienced homelessness (and it sucks) and will never go back there again.

- I love all the Harry Potter movies (particularly Goblet of Fire and Prisoner of Azkaban) and Pirates of the Caribbean movies. There's nothing like really good horror (none of this slasher crap) -- the original Omen and Damien Omen II, The Legend of Hell House, Stephen King's The Dead Zone,and Silence of the Lambs. My all-time favorite filmmaker is Tim Burton, though. I've loved everything he has done, but have an incredible fondness for Beetlejuice.
I also love Mel Brooks, particularly Young Frankenstein and History of the World. Other favorite movies are Dave, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

- Don't watch them much anymore, but I love all of the Law & Order series; the Rachel Maddow Show and Countdown with Keith Olbermann; Weeds; Nurse Jackie; the Forensic Files and Cold Case Files; just about anything on the Discovery Channel, the Science channel and the History channel.
- Music
- The Beatles. The Grateful Dead. CSNY. Neil Young. Stevie Ray Vaughan. Eric Clapton. Linda Ronstadt. Bonnie Raitt. Emmylou Harris. Paul McCartney & Wings. The Mamas & The Papas. The Rolling Stones (older stuff). The Eagles. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
- Books
- Harry Potter in its entirety; I'm a true crime junkie and I love political books. Presently reading "The Family" about the religious nutcakes infiltrating our government.
- Heroes
- The Dalai Lama, Gandhi and world leaders who do not indulge in violence to attain their goals.

Few things have irritated me as much as Condoleeza Rice's latest testament to the Bush Doctrine of preemptive war. According to Rice, Bush's middle east policies will stand the test of time.
