We are all pebbles that form the rock - inspiration from a brave woman

A timely item came across my desk yesterday from my great friend Jacqui of Maine (my "angel in disguise") who shared with me the story of a wonderful strong woman named Carole Whelan. Carole Whelan stood up yesterday at an event to Honor Senator Susan Collins (where she was inducted into the Maine Women's Hall of Fame) and spoke out to request that such an honor be declined until all of our troops are home.

Using the word "never" in activism

As time passes I realize that using absolutes like "never" or "always" is pretty unrealistic.

A couple of years ago I was faced with having to get an emergency container of formula for my grandson because we forgot to bring it with us. The only place around was Walmart. So the decision had to be made: Do I allow my grandson to go hungry because of my political aversion to this evil corporation? Or do I (gulp) push my politics aside (which dictated that I never set foot, let alone… Continue

Happy Winter Solstice.....

Let us know peace.

For as long as the moon shall rise,

For as long as the rivers shall flow,

For as long as the sun will shine,

For as long as the grass shall grow,

Let us know peace.

Imagine what the world will look like when peace breaks out - YOU are invited to participate in our film project!

Imagine Peacefest was born out of the desire for a different kind of event that would attract people of all walks of life. Visionaries within the

founding group perceived the need to provide an alternative, less

“radical”, to the typical, but important, march and rally type of event

advocating for a more just and peaceful world.

Imagine Peacefest is a program of…

Tim DeChristopher News

I was all ready to attend the rally with Tim DeChristopher yesterday, but work got crazy and I couldn't leave. Tim is the University of Utah student who disrupted the sale of BLM land via auction for the purpose of drilling for oil by bidding on parcles of land himself without intending to pay for them. The disruption caused the shut down of the auction. Tim faces up to 10 years in prison and fines in excess of $700,000.
