About Me/Us:

I live in Utah and am originally from Maryland. I maintain an active blog called Dee's 'Dotes .

The organizations in which I am involved and maintain their websites are People for Peace and Justice of Utah,

Desert Greens Green Party of Utah, and I am also a founder of and participant with Pom Poms Not Bomb Bombs Utah's Radical Cheerleaders and Utah Legislature Watch.

My husband, Tom King, and I are co-founders of Blue Sky Institute, a non-profit educational organization. Two of our annual events/projects are: Imagine Peacefest and Community Coat Exchange.

I teach at a very progressive public charter school called City Academy. I have been in public school education for over 25 years and hold B.A. and M.S. degrees. I am married to a wonderful man, Tom King, and we do almost everything together! We have four wonderful grown children, ages 19 - 30. And we have four grandsons. Our first grandson, born December 10, 2006 to our oldest son and his wife . Our second grandson was born February 27, 2008 to our daughter. The third grandson born to our daughter on April 9, 2009 and our fourth grandson born to our oldest son and wife May 19, 2009 - the same day as his great-grandfather's 80th birthday! Tim DeChristopher News

I was all ready to attend the rally with Tim DeChristopher yesterday, but work got crazy and I couldn't leave. Tim is the University of Utah student who disrupted the sale of BLM land via auction for the purpose of drilling for oil by bidding on parcles of land himself without intending to pay for them. The disruption caused the shut down of the auction. Tim faces up to 10 years in prison and fines in excess of $700,000.
