"SHELTER FROM THE STORM"

Profile Information

About Me/Us:
I'm an old guy on the outside, being renewed inside day by day. I love our Father in heaven, and all His children. I believe Jesus came to show us what our Father is like, and to call us to return to Him as beloved children.

He wants all His children to be true, that is, His idea of us. He's bringing that to pass. It's a process we hold up by holding on to that which we think is life. Our Father is unconditional, never-ending Love. He will not be satisfied until all the children He has created from His heart are safely home with Him at the Feast as true daughters and sons of His. That is LIFE.

"What father isn't pleased with the first tottering steps of his little one. What father would be satisfied with anything less than the manly gait of his full-grown son?"

Heroes
I don't believe there are such persons as heroes in God's economy - but some people that have exampled His Grace and Truth to me are:
M.Teresa
John Paul ll
Ghandi
Fr. Kolbe
Fr. Damian
Dietrich Bonhoefer
Brennan Manning
Carlo Carreto
And many more who have walked in the Truth that is Jesus.
I look forward confidently to the day when all who work for a living will be one with no thought to their separateness as Negroes, Jews, Italians or any other distinctions. This will be the day when we bring into full realization the American dream -- a dream yet unfulfilled. A dream of equality of opportunity, of privilege and property widely distributed; a dream of a land where men will not take necessities from the many to give luxuries to the few; a dream of a land where men will not argue that the color of a man's skin determines the content of his character; a dream of a nation where all our gifts and resources are held not for ourselves alone, but as instruments of service for the rest of humanity; the dream of a country where every man will respect the dignity and worth of the human personality.

MLK On Love

Martin Luther King Jr. said:

“We will match your capacity to inflict suffering, by our capacity to endure suffering. We shall meet your physical force with soul force. Do to us what you will, and we shall continue to love you. Throw us in jail, and we shall still love you. Bomb our homes and threaten our children, and we shall still love you. Send your hooded perpetrators of violence into our community at the midnight hour and beat us and leave us half dead, and we shall still love you.… Continue

The Peaceful Kingdom

Posted on January 16, 2009 at 2:08pm 0 Comments

“The dream of Jesus Christ is the Kingdom of God, and the committed disciple buys into his dream.

It ought to be noted that the Kingdom is not an abstraction. It is a concrete, visible, and formidable reality forged by the personal commitment of many members. A commitment that does not issue in humble service, suffering discipleship, and creative love is an illusion. The world has no interest in abstractions, and Jesus Christ is impatient with illusions: ‘Everyone who listens to these… Continue

Hey Skip, I was going to quote I Corinthians 13. But then I figured you probably allready know it by heart. Anyway, keep me in your prayers, and I'll keep you in mine. And lets all pray for peace.

Thank you, Skip. I have been on a spiritual journey throughout my life; Jesus the Christ has been a major influence, as has Krishna, Paramahansa Yogananda, and many other spiritual teachers who all teach the same message: go within and find the kingdom of God. Joe.
