Late one night, as I walked across the railroad tracks on a dark lonely road, a tree spoke to me. I thought it was odd for a tree had never spoken to me before. Because of the special circumstances I listened closely to what the tree had to say. "You are on a journey of discovery," said the tree. "But where am I to journey to?" I asked, "And what am I to discover?" The tree never answered my questions. I don't believe the tree was trying to be rude, rather I believe that the wisdom of the tree knew that I had it within me to answer these questions myself. That was the day I consciously began my Journey of Discovery.
"Why should there be hunger and deprivation in any land, in any city, at any table, when man has the resources and the scientific know-how to provide all mankind with the basic necessities of life?"
~Martin Luther King, Jr.
