Elusive Paradise

In this elusive paradise
there's
recluse
and sacrifice
comment
silent device
and all the fears are brought to fore
before the tears can hit the floor
Slam doors

No space to make the dreams come true
cause for all the things I try ta do
it's not the time
And there's no reason but in the rhyme
There's no proper season
just the passage of time
My watch is broken
scattered over miles
and it's not water proof
so even as I gather
elements of sunshine
All I see are silver lines
but there's no way to escape
the clouds behind

And why escape the dream
I traveled this far to find?

So I just jot lines cause I've just got lines
but I've got no shoes
but I've managed food
and I've got no truth
but I've managed evidence
and I'm still here
so the morning compliments
the fear
cause night still comes

And even though my money's spent
even though
the home I call my own
is something lent
It's been sent
So I can't justify a cry
And I fear that shedding tears will have me
caught
up a creek
cause I can cry a stream
it seems
the rain must be
from heaven
cause the rest came in the mail

But there's no rest
but not like hell
even though I'm burning
the ashes I know
will just go
to dust
Because I must
rise again
And believe me
I'm tryin'
And inside I'm cryin'
But someone was lyin'
And that's what got me here
but this is my journey
I'm smart
but somehow my learning
got stunted
I must have been blunted
but now I've got art
So the pain in my heart
will be easing it's way through my veins
to maintain pressure

and to obtain relief
I've got to breathe
but see,
I've still got this nicotine
and excuses
I can't let go yet

And I try to tell the children don't fret
but the six year old said "Emphysema"
And all I could think was "wake me up"
I don't want to be dreamin
this dream
but it seems
it's too lucid to deny
reality
sneaks up
and whispers in your ear
till you realize it's here
And by that time you can't spell
SubLime

So I just rhyme
cause I've got no answers
