We all like to talk about this topic: peace. The word is beautiful in almost in an innate way; we love it, love to long for it, to strive to know more about it.

Peace.

It's what we see all around us during this holiday season. Peace on Earth. Be in Peace. May you feel the peace of the holidays. Peace be with you.

How lovely and sincere those expressions. I would never criticize or be cynical of that.

Still, as one human being getting up each day and facing all the usual distractions of normal life, where does "peace" really fit in? How does it manifest? What difference does it truly make on a daily basis, or does it?

For myself, unless I take time each and every day to go inside, within myself, and focus until I feel that peace, it is merely a lovely word, a beautiful idea but a limited concept.

Peace, for me, can never be about "the world" because there is no world, there are only individuals. When those individuals find peace, feel peace, understand peace...then the "world" will be in peace because I am that world.

"We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
