Most people are a product of cultural conditioning, education and advertisement that leads them to comply with the reality they are given and told to accept.

An individual discerns what they choose, a mob absorbs what they claim. Neither can be easily dissuaded from their truth, as it supports who and what they desire to*be. Therefore caring about any actual truth would generally necessitate an admission of being in error. Never underestimate the ability of the human psyche to delude itself, nor the power of fear.

This is as nasty and as insane as I have ever seen Beck.  The man definitely needs to adjust his level of medication.  Either that, or we as a society are all paying for his insanity.
