"Why should there be hunger and deprivation in any land, in any city, at any table, when man has the resources and the scientific know-how to provide all mankind with the basic necessities of life?"

The Law of Attraction is always working for you, whether you want it to or not, and whether you are conscious of it or not. So the key is to consciously use it for your greater good. I agree, that initially it can be difficult to stay on track though.
One way to help you stay on track, is to find a local community that believes in and talks about the Universal Law. Unity Churches (not the same as Unitarian), are good for that and can be found in just about any medium to large city. I personally prefer the Science of Mind path that is taught at the Center for Spiritual Living (www.unitedcentersforspiritualliving.org), as the Law of Attraction is really one of their core beliefs, so they constantly talk about it, helping to reinforce those beliefs and strengthen your understanding of how/why it works. Plus they tend to have more modern music, a more lively energy and a younger crowd. Also they teach the truths from a broader array of spiritual traditions, whereas Unity tends to teach from the Bible, almost exclusively. Though it may sound like it, I'm really not trying to convert you, I'm just telling you what my path is.
An example of how the Law is always working: The other day, I was running late and nothing seemed to be working right or going the way I wanted them to. I got very frustrated and said, "Everything that could possibly go wrong is going wrong!" Then I got into the car and started driving in a rush to my next appointment. A few blocks down the road, I took a sip of my left-over coffee and it dribbled out onto my white shirt. Now furious, and even more late, I drove back to the house and changed my shirt. At some point on the way back to my office, I realized what I was doing, calmed down, and started singing one of the songs I learned at CSL, "I am so blessed. I am so blessed. I am so grateful for all that I have...", all the while thinking of all the things in my life I have to be grateful for. Immediately after I finished singing this song, I got a call from a lady in Ft. Worth, who said that she was looking into Qigong and was on Qigong.com looking for a local instructor, and spirit led her to call me. So I told her about the 9-Breath Method class I was teaching that evening, and she decided to come to it (an hour drive each way for her). Before that call, I had been a bit concerned that I wouldn't have enough people for an effective demonstration of the power of the 9-Breath Meditation Circle. As soon as I changed my thinking, I changed my life, and started attracting more things to be grateful for instead of attracting more things that I didn't want.
Blessed be,
:) Michael
