Too many pyramid out from there to name, Love quality comedies and dramas, well-made documentaries and dialogue-laden relationship flicks. In other words, my tasts are broad and varied.
- Television
- Not much network except Letterman. Lots of PBS like Charlie Rose, Tavis Smiley, Frontline, Bill Moyers' Journal and documentaries. Made-for-cable programs like Six Feet Under, In Treatment, Ladies No. 1 Detective Agency, Crazy enough for ya? Oh! I miss ER and my guilty pleasures are Grey's Anatomy and Cash Cab.
- Music
- Classic rock and folkish rock. James Taylor, The Who, Paul Simon, Meat Loaf, Jimi Hendrix (!), Rufus Wainwright, Eric Clapton, Beatles, Stones, etc. Josh Groban, James Blunt, Tom Waites, Bob Dylan (!).
- Books
- To Kill a Mockingbird, I think, started me on my life path. It opened my eyes at an early age to injustice when such a thing was invisible in my real life. Again, so many wonderful books! The Story of Edgar Sawtelle was a rare break from non-fiction (and from reality) that I enjoyed recently. Trying currently to read Zen and Now, non-fiction, it depicts the recreation of Robert Pirsig's motorcycle journey. Where is the time?

I think that you might be interested in joining a group that I just started, called Feminists For Peace.
I read your comment on the blog "How can we create greater impact on the
MEDIA?" in it, you wrote: "Another outside possibility would be to organize big enough peace events that the MSN would be forced to cover them."
Another initiative that I am trying to get all my friends interested in is The World March For Peace And NonViolence. This also has a support group here on MyPeace. This is EXACTLY the kind of huge activity that you recommend. And it has ALREADY started! Please come with us!

You are obviously not somebody that needs the following advice. You read like you know the ropes, or at least can find your way around a new neighbourhood without too much trouble. So you can skip the advice bit (except to pass it on to those you might feel do need it), and get to the personal invitations. In your case, they come from the heart. I love your profile information!

Our numbers are growing every day.
But numbers aren’t all that’s important.
You might join up and think: “Well, now I’ve done enough for Peace…”
Or you might join up because you want to be informed, be given ideas and inspiration.
But, you know, there is no information unless there’s somebody informing.
There are no ideas unless somebody thinks them.
There is no inspiration unless somebody (or something) inspires.
So I’d like to ask you, please, to be an ACTIVE member of MyPeace.tv
To inform, to think (and SHARE your thoughts)… and to inspire.
This website would be NOTHING without the People who make it up.
So, what can YOU do, somebody who “doesn’t know the ropes”, the “new kid on the blog”???
Look around, read blogs and discussions and don’t be afraid of adding your own voice.
Your voice is important to us.
Go to the “Groups” page (hold your cursor for a moment over “People” in the line-up at the top of the page, until the list of 4 sub-options appears, then click on “Groups”) find one or more that appeal to you, look at their mini-descriptions, click on the names (or the pictures) of the ones that interest you and read their full group description there (window shopping is free…)
And then JOIN the ones that really appeal to you. (Join by clicking on the “Join [group’s name]” option at the bottom of the page, under the comments.)
You may join as many or as few groups as you wish… but there’s no point in being a “group collector” like a stamp collector, leaving your groups in some cyber drawer that is rarely – if ever – opened.
I – personally – would like to invite you to join two groups that are especially important to me:

and – in case you understand Spanish – Sencillamente, Paz (a group for exchange of ideas, mutual support, whatever, in Spanish)
