A decade ago, Playing For Change was inspired when one man, Roger Ridley, sang familiar words to a popular song: "No matter who you are. No matter where you go in life. At some point, you're gonna need somebody to stand by you." For Co-Founder Mark Johnson, that moment ignited a passion to use music to connect people and to create a better world.

The Playing For Change Foundation (playingforchange.org) is dedicated to creating positive change through music education. Today, more than 700 children around the world are learning music and dance every week. This is possible because people like you are willing to Stand By Them. Listen to our students and see how music education is affecting their lives in a positive way. Stand By Me Scholarships provide funding for students to attend PFCF music programs for an entire year.

"After seeing PFC's "Stand By Me" video on YouTube in 2008, musicians Aom Amm and Gigi Nemrod were deeply inspired. Little did they know that simply viewing a video would soon change their lives in a profound way. Upon further investigation they read about the efforts of the foundation and from that moment on decided to model the same principles and initiate a music program for disadvantaged Thai children. The Khlong Toey Music program was founded in August 2012.

...in the early 80's american bluesman Billy Jones was the lead guitarist for an outstanding group of touring musicians who called themselves 'The Incredible Rock City Band'. ...this song is taken from the only known video of one of their live shows. ...these guys are great! ...every band member is a star!
They performed on military installations all over the United States for the U.S. Dept. of MWR for more than ten years during the 80's and 90's. ...I'm sure that there are many veterans out there who remember seeing this band at NCO and Officer's clubs back in the day.
