Every year at our final rehearsal I indulge in the privilege of singing the final song with the PS22 Chorus. This year, I decided "Save The Last Dance For Me" by The Drifters would make for the perfect farewell. It's always hard to say goodbye, but these kids have made themselves forever part of the legacy. They will be missed, but I know that they will continue to bring their love and light to the world and make it a better place.

Still plenty of unseen performances from the 2013 crew to come to help ease the transition into the 2014 school year, so stay tuned...

I've loved this song ever since I first heard it, but I only love it more now that the PS22 Chorus kids did their thing with it. Here is "Young Folks" by Peter Bjorn and John! Alicea (with a cold no less) and the chorus had just the right feel for this one, and learned it super-quick too! Definitely one of this year's personal favorites for me, though admittedly that's becoming quite a list... Wonderful also to have 2009 chorus member Samantha (soloist on "Let There Be Peace On Earth", "Maoz Tsur", & "Tattoo") sit in with us for this! And of course ANY YouTube video with a singing Spider-man has just got to be worth the watch, no?"

Another amazing performance from CREED frontman Scott Stapp with the PS22 Chorus of 2013 -- here is the band's classic song, "With Arms Wide Open!" Can't sing Scott's praises enough -- as a singer and as a gentleman this man is in a league of his own! So honored to have him stop by....

"ONE DAY" Matisyahu, DP Dave Holmes & PS22 Chorus at 92nd Street Y (PRO SHOT!!)

On March 16, 2010, the PS22 Chorus gave an epic performance at the 92nd Street Y with the great Matisyahu. Needless to say, I had been dying to get ahold of this performance ever since, and was ecstatic to finally receive a copy from Matisyahu's manager when the kids performed with Matis last month at the ONEXONE Gala. Not only is it always a thrill to see and hear the kids professionally recorded, this particular performance featured the kids at their best with not only the genius of Matisyahu, but also accompanied by DP Dave Holmes of the Dub Trio on acoustic guitar! Playing with him and Matis was an inspiration, and I think we all enjoyed improvising our respective parts and bouncing off of each other's ideas.

We were actually only slated to do "One Day" for this performance, but we all recognized magic was happening on "On Nature" at the rehearsal earlier that day (footage previously posted). Matis was cool enough to insist on us doing that one as well! Meanwhile, Leah was at her best on the solo of "One Day" and she truly brought the house down!! Her voice never sounded better and the entire chorus was just spot on! I don't know if there's a song the PS22 Chorus enjoys singing more than this one, and I think that really comes across in this video.

This was just one of those performances where everything came together perfectly, so deepest thanks to the 92nd Street Y and of course to Matisyahu & his management for giving us permission to post these two videos!"
