Your planetary development system is hindered by antiquated financial concepts that concentrate public wealth and production into personal fortune. Preventing the peoples will from being realized, slowing change and fostering conflict. Education is touted as beneficial, yet also hindered by antiquated concepts that focus development into arbitrary areas of division, leaving vast numbers of youth to languish in relative ambiguity.

You have the technology to eliminate poverty, hunger and resource shortage. To create 2 Billion new jobs and support a population of 10 Billion, to remove conflict and war from society. To adapt to climate change, to move your energy grid into the road and railway system via conductive energy transfer methods. To create sustainable cities based upon integrated, renewable life support strategies.

You lack only the political and social cooperative facilities.

You have the technology to deploy reusable Manned and unmanned superconductive rail launched vehicles on Earth and the Moon. Once you move beyond the search for life, you also possess the ability to begin terraforming Mars with robotic factories, this could all be accomplished in the next 100 years, raising the Martian atmosphere to a level which will support rudimentary life forms that enable human colonies to be semi self-sufficient.

You lack only the political and social cooperative facility.

The real issue is your state and federal tax contributions are used to subsidize corporate control over every aspect of social development, without your consent.

U*R already traveling among the stars... and are in the process of leaving one of the most dynamic, living space spheres (Motherships) that exists in this universe... NOT via technological space travel... But unfortunately by destroying it's ability to sustain life.
