Those who are free of all conceptual thinking, and are simply aware, are referred as a "Buddha". And that which is void of concepts has no shape or characteristics whatsoever, and is therefore, formless. The "Buddha" is simply another word for Formless Existence, or Silent Awareness. A permanently silenced mind is the Buddha.
