The Gandhi King Season for Nonviolence event at the United Nations, held in March 2007, featured non-profit organization Where Peace Lives Global Mural Exchange Program. Children and teens from the Tri-State Area both created and exchanged global murals for peace. Paintings included images of the world today and the future humanity is working to create. In an effort to mobilize 467 cities in 40 states and 18 countries, this 64 day educational media and grassroots campaign promotes the mass nonviolent actions of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin L. King, leaders who believed nonviolence is "the way"—the "only way."
