- My husband and I lost our jobs in Nov. 2009. We also lost our health insurance. We are both now 62 and have been forced to take early retirement SS. If we get sick we will loose everything we have saved and own. We both have to take medications that we can barely afford. My husband is a veteran and uses the VA but we are still billed for appointments and medications.
