About Me/Us:

My interests lie in research and writing. The subjects that interest me is the triple threat currently bearing down upon human civilization and all life on this planet.

Threat 1) Climate Change. A change of 2 C or more will hammer our current food system. This is a problem for all those who believe that all humans are created equal.

Threat 2) Environmental degradation: Manmade activites are extinguishing for all-time an enormous number of species. Simultaneously we are making life very perilous for many of the billions of humans that currently inhabit the planet. Water, forests and soils are the major issues of our time.

Peak Energy: Modernity is both the greatest blessing and greatest curse to ever have visited our species and this planet. Everyone is different and the point is surely debatable. However for me the litmus test of success of our rescue plan for humanity and our fellow travelers on spaceship earth is the information age.

I quite simply see no chance of avoiding the worst effects of industrialization and climate change without the positive affects of modernity. This is my bias and my belief. Again, this is surely a debatable point but it remains a core belief of mine all the same.

The most recent film I have seen is "The Day the Earth Stood Still". It is quite a good allegory for our times.

Television

I watch news, sports and some sitcoms.

Music

I play music and listen to live music as much as I can manage.

Books

The two books I am currently reading are "Tar Sands Showdown" by Tony Clarke and "Climate Wars" by Gwynne Dyer.

I can highly recommend both.
