Touch me in secret places no one has reached before
silent places where only words interfere
sad places where only whispering makes sense
happy places where our hearts as children played
Touch me at daybreak, when darkness no longer clings to us
and we are enjoying a fresh, fragile happiness
midday, when the perplexity of our responsibilities engulf us
and the wear of the day tugs at our vulnerability
nightfall, when we once again begin to know who we are
and open the door to another lost in the furry
the closing of yet another day
when we hear and see each other’s susceptibility
and sliver the rigidity masking our identity
conceding the virginity of now
crying out to each and every core
of our entire being
as twilight safely tucks us in
to dreams magically dancing
on foreheads gently kissed
by tender lips
Touch me tightly throughout the night
with your strong protective arms
building a castle around my weary body
while I snuggle deeply
letting myself be
like an infant
in the cradle of your arms
Touch me like a child who will never have enough love
For I am somebody who wants to be lost in your arms
has known enough pain to love
is strong enough to give
wise enough to need
Touch me in crowds when a single look says everything
solitude when it is too dark to see
absence when I reach for you and cry out your name
Through time and space
Forever
I am afraid to ask
Touch me with your soul
heart
words
hands
lips
simple presence in a room
Touch me gently for sometimes I need to weaken
I am a woman who has known pain
child who has silently suffered
lady who has pride in her feelings
person who longs to be seen
lover who will love back
and
I will touch you in all the same ways
Through time and distance
Waking and sleeping
Forever
And a day
Throughout the depths of time
We touch.

"Why should there be hunger and deprivation in any land, in any city, at any table, when man has the resources and the scientific know-how to provide all mankind with the basic necessities of life?"
