i think we see our own faults the most, which is why we see them in others so clearly. ok, so i may deny they are mine or wish i didn't have them, but i the minute i open my mouth about the faults of others, i know i'm talking about myself (as i see my faults externalized in the other person) . . . after all if those faults we see in others didn't raise an emotional issue for us, then likely they are not our faults after all, but their's . . . i am so thankful for the simple truth of the 4 agreements sometimes! and when they are their's usually we have all the patience and forgiveness in the world for them, but our own . . . please, i have no patience with myself. i've been using that emotional/patience meter to consciously follow the white rabbits of criticism or fault-finding in others as a tool for self-understanding. growing in patience and forgiveness for the self, hopefully!
