"Why should there be hunger and deprivation in any land, in any city, at any table, when man has the resources and the scientific know-how to provide all mankind with the basic necessities of life?"

Peace and Love,

You might get some new ideas from the book or by studying some of the people featured.
I am learning a lot from reading about Coleman McCarthy who was a columnist for The Washington Post for 28yrs and now runs a nonprofit organization which helps get Peace Studies into the schools. I was excited to learn there are actually organized programs which can help us promote Peace. I am hoping to start holding workshops based on the Great Peacemakers book. That is one way I am promoting Peace. The book is presented in 5 parts:
1) Choosing Nonviolence
2) Living Peace
3)Honoring Diversity
4)Valuing All Life
5)Caring for the Planet
The 20 Peacemakers are presented under one of the 5 parts listed. By studying these people, we are exposed to different methods of promoting Peace and then we can apply these methods and more to our own lives.
I believe it is important that we each "walk our talk" and put into practise our desire for Peace. I commend you for doing your part! I hope these ideas might help you in your efforts.
Blessings to you and yours,
Helen
