Profile Information

About Me/Us:
I'm very passionate about social justice, a flaming liberal social/political activist, and proud of it. I would like to see a world with an abundance of love & peace for ALL, with no discrimination according to age, race, color, religion, politics, intelligence (or lack thereof), gender, sexual orientation, ethnic group, or national origin.

I support President Barack Obama, literacy programs, humanitarian and environmental concerns, animal rights, and Veterans, most especially Vietnam Veterans.

I'm not religious, but I am a very spiritual person, I'm drawn to Native American culture, wisdom and spirituality, which are most compatible with my own personal Pagan beliefs. Like Native Americans, I believe all life on earth is connected and sacred, including all humans, plants, and animals.
I believe that when we care for our environment, we are blessed by the Divine in whatever form you perceive that to be. I also embrace the Wiccan Rede philosophy of "Harm None". I consider honesty, loyalty, kindness, and compassion to be the most important virtues a person can possess.

I retired from full-time work in January, 2008 and I write as a hobby. My current work in progress is a book called "The Limestone Industry in Southern Indiana".

I have one daughter and a seven-year old grandson in North Carolina. I love animals and live with my outrageously spoiled long-haired black cat, Jules.

My primary interests are reading, writing, history, geography, genealogy, travel, other cultures, museums, libraries, flea markets, nature, metaphysics, and the British Isles.

Activities I enjoy include bowling, billiards, auto racing, car shows, flea markets, movies, concerts, historical sites, fairs, museums, libraries, trivia, word games, board games, card games, computer games, and many others. Although I'm not a huge sports fan, I can watch baseball and basketball occasionally.

I'm most comfortable with artistic, creative types such as musicians, artists, and writers, and those who are spiritual in nature (but generally NOT traditionally religious!). I do NOT like IM and Chat Rooms, strongly prefer e-mail, telephone, or face-to-face communication!
Relationship Status:

Movies
All the Cohen Brothers Movies, my favorite is The Big Lebowski, which I've seen at least 25 times, but it is just as funny now as it was the first time. I have watched more Television in the past five years than probably the past fifty years. (I worked for the Cable Co from 2004 to 2008)

Maybe I think more like a man??) I like to read all kinds of trade journals, Maps & atlases, reference books, non-fiction, (my favorite fiction is mysteries!) Anything about the British Isles.
