Profile Information

About Me/Us:
I'm an ex-farm girl Chiropractor and Horticulturist living in Schenectady, NY. I really love what I do for a living and would work for free if I didn't need to eat and pay my bills. I've lived all over NY state because of my education, but decided ultimately to come back to my home town to start my healing practice. In the process I have learned to immensely appreciate the area in which I grew up in and am very proud to live in Schenectady, the home of my Dutch ancestors. I would describe myself as hardworking, conscientious, honest, emotional, empathic, bright, versatile, creative, liberal, slightly nerdy and somewhat daring. I have been known to be a little opinionated and tend to fight for what I feel is right, sometimes despite the consequences. I'm an underdog lover and good karma collector at heart I guess. Caring for animals, plants and worthy people are my passions. I truly believe that good laugh and a warm hug can go a long way.

The last few years has been full of remarkable changes for me. The best part was meeting a beautiful man that has forever changed my life. Kevin is my soul-mate, my best friend and my true love. He and his kids really have made my life worth living again. We are now excitedly expecting the arrival of a baby of our own in Dec/Jan and plan to get married sometime in the near future. Kevin has joined me in my practice as a reiki practitioner, ear candler and shamanic healer, which is truly a blessing for me and his clients. We look forward to sharing our lives together for many years to come, living, working, playing and raising our happy family.

Music
I love listening to a wide variety of stuff: alternative, punk, ska, rock, rockabilly, reggae, electronica, ambient and new age music. I made a pact with myself a long time ago that I wouldn't be one of those people who only listened to the music that they loved in high school their whole lives. Hence, I've kept pretty up to date but I still love some of the good old bands from the 70's and 80's too. My current favorites in no particular order are U2 (always), Green Day (always), Radiohead, the Cure, REM, Beck, Jane's Addiction, Incubus, Interpol, The Strokes, Hot Hot Heat, Smashing Pumpkins, The Smiths, Snow Patrol, Doves, The Bravery, Coldplay, The Dresden Dolls, Arctic Monkeys, Matthew Sweet, Natalie Merchant, No Doubt/Gwen Stefani, The Ramones, Scissor Sisters, Modest Mouse, Kaiser Chiefs, Keane, Spoon, Shiny Toy Guns, State Radio, The Fratellis, Stone Temple Pilots, 311, Kate Nash, Sia, Lily Allen, Louis XIV, The Violent Femmes, Lenny Kravitz, Marcy Playground, Good Charlotte, The Killers, The Shins, Vampire Weekend, Muse, Low vs. Diamond, Death Cab for Cutie, The Kooks and The White Stripes.
