- About Me/Us:
- I am retired and living with my Canadian husband in Northern Florida. I'm not entirely sure the trade-off of civility for sun was worth the move out of a country I respect greatly. My efforts to bring my own country to caring about it's own people's health over it's obsession for killing others in their own lands may be slowing down, but will never end. I'd really like to see the day America rejoins the civilized world again and promotes caring over killing.

- I watch mostly documentaries. Micheal Moore is the best! I'm waiting for comedies to get good again too. Laughing is good medicine.

- Sit-coms! Modern Family, The Middle, Commmunity are some of the good new ones. Still like The Office, Parks and Recreation, and 30 Rock. News: Democracy Now
- Music
- Stuck in the past with folk like Peter, Paul and Mary, Gorden Lightfoot, and Dylan.
- Books
- All of philosopher Krishnamurti books. Favorite oldies: "Zen and the Art of Motercycle Maintainance", "Illusions" by Richard Bach, and "Franny and Zooey" by J.D. Salinger. Also like Howard Zinn's " Voices of a people's History of the United States". Currently reading (11-01-09) David Swanson's "Daybreak, Undoing the Imperial Presidency and Forming a More Perfect Union".

Is there any message going out to the winner of this year's peace prize to step up to the plate? I'm new here, and I thought this site would be on fire after the President decided war was the answer to winning the Peace Prize.
