Let not a first glance cast a novel of knowing toward anyone. For even some of the most attractive people do not have their lives together. But those who the “beautiful people” might pass by with a sneer of judgment at someone down and out as if they knew all about them. But, what the masses might just miss are the untapped pearls formed from experience just waiting to have them opened to share with the right person.

The real wisdom of the universe is in finding beauty from the ordinary and seeing magic in the smallest things. I learned this lesson in a very unusual way on the way to work last week. While singing in my spirit and gazing at the grassy section between the roadways, I saw a grouping of beautiful flowers.

They were purple and brought a tear of awe to my eyes. I felt such a joy in my soul from seeing this small grouping of flowers that was on my path. I see them more and more now, but that one group touched my very being deeply.

Then the next day the grass was cut and I realized that these flowers of such delight and amazing potential were just weeds and the world simply cuts them down like grass.

It is in that moment I pulled off the highway on my way home and felt clearly the meaning that the universe was speaking to me about. And it is this:

Sometimes the most unexpected blessings in our pathways can come from the most unexpected sources. And what one person considered a throwaway by many might have the most amazing gift to share with the world – be it a song, music, a poem, a friendly shoulder or even a hand to hold.

Yet the world like the municipal mowers run them over and cut them down. Yet the best blessing is that the weed I loved so much grows back and becomes just as beautiful as before.
I challenge each one of you in your day to find an untapped weed on your path. No, not on the highway, but a person who you see all the time but never took the time to engage with them. Where will your glorious weed be found?
