I'm a German media professional living in Chicago.
I work for the non-profit Rotary International, a global service organization with 1.2 million members worldwide that promotes peace and international understanding through international scholoarships, professional exchange programs and grass-roots community projects.
In 2002, Rotary launched the Rotary Centers for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution, an innovative program desigend to educate tomorrow's peace makers today. Each year, up to 110 Rotary World Peace Fellowships (60 master’s degree fellowships and 50 professional development certificate fellowships) are offered on a competitive basis at seven Rotary Centers at leading international universities.
Hey Sandra, I think it's great too :). The description says:
"Going for the Guinness World Record A crowd at the Ithaca Festival forms a peace symbol in Stewart Park in Ithaca, N.Y., in an attempt to enter the Guinness World Records for the world's largest human peace sign Sunday afternoon June 22, 2008. Some 5,814 people joined the effort. The previous largest human peace sign was made by 2,500 people at the University of Michigan."
