Profile Information:

About Me/Us:
My name is Diane Abeyta......I was honored by receiving the Indian name Dancing Fingers at a Sacred Native American Ceremony here in NW Arkansas in 1990.

I am originally from Albuquerque,New Mexico where,as I grew up,my spirit was filled with Native American Culture, Art & Spirituality. I lived there 26 years & left before the city's population exploded!

I am a musician & an artist & candle maker.Candles draw on our spirit and can be used to give tribute to the dawning light within us all.

I have played sax & piano professionally for 25 yrs in rock, blues, funk & contemporary groups.

There's a special magical event that occurs while playing music. An intensity connects to the emotions of the heart & soul. The listener & the musician are united in a beautiful sphere of sound!

Happy MLK day. Wow! Tomorrow a mixed race first generation american will be the president of the United States. I don't know if you know who Alfred E. Smith was, but I know that tomorrow he and Dr. King will look down from Heaven and finally see the Promised Land.
  • David Burnett

Hey buddy how have you been? I haven't talked to you too much lately. I just thought I'ld say hi...hi.

I know there have been a lot of high expectations of Obama, and some people may have let those expectations get unrealisticaly high, but I still can't help but see striking resemblances between him and both Lincoln and FDR. I know that lots of people are making those same comparisons right now, but history is my life's obsession, and that man just has a way of making the America people believe in themselves again. I can't stop picturing millions of people saying in one voice " Yes We Can!" over and over.

    Aho Dancing Fingers,
awesome photo, thanks. i noticed you could use proper code for the Indigo Girl Song, I will get it for you that plays on request.

Also, a forgiveness ceremony from Whitebison.org began, but sisters of Earth walked alone not with brothers of Heaven. So much to learn, too many baby steps. Anyway, we shall pray and send love to all, especially for those in much pain.

Elders have been meeting for several weeks and these shall be published on a blog soon planning the Great Migration. I will let you know.

Toknee soo ni jib wa Cotish. It is the will of the Great Spirits, who belongs to the beloved, we shall all pray together for our lost souls. It is the will...

Hey how ya dooin'? I know so many New Yorkers and Philly people who say that now. It's fun to say. Did you see the first episode of the Indian series on American Experience on PBS last night. It covered the Arival of the Pilgrams to the end of King Philip's War. It was pretty cool. Next week they're doing the life of Tecumseh, and one of my heroes, his brother Tenskwatawa. Anyway talk to you later. Ge ga.

Nice to meet you as well :) Where in NWA do you live if you dont mind me asking? I currently live in Bella Vista. Its reassuring when we live in a predominately "bible belt" community, to know someone open minded and peace loving, not to say the church community isnt open minded. Are you aware of the geese control problem they are having here in BV? I am organizing a protest as well as an undercover volunteer program to wipe the oil off of the gosling eggs, in order to save them. They (BV poa and board council) will be oiling them soon, and I am going to sign up as a volunteer and act like im along on their massacre, and I plan on following behind them with my dry cloths :). I hope you have a peaceful week!

AN EARTH DAY EXCERPT - A DOG'S EYE VIEW
Ziggy put his paws over his floppy black ears. He knew what was coming. He knew the Professor was ready to launch into one of his long tirades and he couldn't bear to hear it. It was just too painful for his sensitive ears. He had heard there were places on the earth that were messed up. Word had gotten around. His friends had told him. The birds, who traveled back and forth through the seasons, flying everywhere over water and land, had seen it. Bird told Rabbit. Rabbit had been frightened when he told the gentle deer. And Deer had told Ziggy. Something awful was happening in these places called cities.

The squirrels were gathering more nuts than they needed, afraid there wouldn't be any more trees. Their friends the frogs were disappearing and no one knew why. They needed the frogs! They're the ones who sing to the thunder being. Their song brings on the rain.

Everyone was talking about it. They told Ziggy the problem was his friends, the humans. They were taking up more space than the Great Universal Source had allotted them. Turtle said the humans should learn to slow down and look around. Snake said some of their poisons would wake them up soon enough. Spider said not to worry. The humans had created a web and gotten caught in it. But some of them would see their way out. They could see the light, the weaving of the whole universe. And after all, even flying insects knew to go to the light, didn't they?

Thanks I finally read this. I have just been rather overwhelmed with life lately. Too many e-mail to read. too many sites to travel through. People needing me. Sometimes I just need to read something and feel grounded. I was on edge today. Maybe tomorrow things shall be different. Love ya dancing fingers. I am at the palm of gods hands.
  • David Burnett

Hey Dancing Fingers, how's it goin'? Hey I just started reading a great book about one of my all-time heroes. He was born a Dutch-American in Virginia, who hated the White people's treatment of the Indians, but he died one of the greatest chiefs in the entire history of the Shawnee nation. His name was Blue Jacket. It's such a good story.

Siyo my friend. How are you doing these days. The coolest thing happened to me the other day. I was standing at the edge of a lake watching a golden eagle fly over head. Suddenly I felt the erge to look down at my feet and, wouldn't you believe just then, an eagle feather washed up on the shore right at my feet. I thanked the eagle and left some tobacoe. It was cool. Wado for the cool pictures and stuff you've been sending to my page. See ya Dancing Fingers.
