Jeff's focus in on filmmaking was inspired from the Matthew S. Hisiger Film Foundation in memory of his late friend. As a junior in high school, the foundation chose Jeff a to work an internship at Crossroads Films in NYC and the following year awarded him a partial scholarship to Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications, where he earned a B.F.A. in Film, Photography, and Visual Arts.
As he developed his understanding of the media arts, he explored the world. His travels to learn and create in summers abroad at the University of Cambridge, England, Hanyang University, South Korea, photography excursion in Beijing, China, experimental music video in Costa Rica, documentary work in the Thailand-Burma Border, and documentary work with Hama Films, Antigua have influenced his life immensely. His observations of displacement, public declarations for democracy, and defiant acts of creative civil disobedience can be seen through his documentary work as well as his videos for a range of NGO, NPO, and grassroots campaigns for human rights.
His most recent project, Honoring Home, a feature length documentary about Burmese Freedom Fighter, U Han Lin, and the struggles of his homeland is currently in post production.
Jeff is now an editor/motion designer living in Brooklyn, NY.
Jeff's artistic endeavors range from audio/video production, graphic/motion design, poetry, theatrical performance, painting, piano, and percussion.
May Love and Light surround and carry you as you continue your important work! Remember to nurture your own soul and laugh as often as you can so you can continue and not let the darkness overtake you. Take some comfort in that many are working in their own way towards peace. Every small step helps us all.
I'll continue to check your blogs and website. Good work!
