We are actively preparing for two celebrations for WORLD UNITY DAY in Southern California. LIGHT Bearers of the World - IRVINE is hosting an oceanside meditation and celebration at 11:00 AM at The Montage Resort in Laguna Beach and a 7:00 PM indoor celebration in Irvine. If anyone wishes to attend they are welcome. Just email me for details.

.
There was once a 10-year-old girl who made this speech:

I'm here for other children.
I'm here because I care.
I'm here because children everywhere are suffering and because forty thousand people die each day from hunger.
I'm here because those people are mostly children.
We have got to understand that the poor are all around us and we are ignoring them.
We have got to understand that these deaths are preventable.
We have got to understand that people in third world countries think and care and smile and cry just like us.
We have got to understand that they are us. We are them.
My dream is to stop hunger by the year 2000.
My dream is to give the poor a chance.
My dream is to save the 40,000 people who die each day.
My dream can and will come true if we all look into the future and see the light that shines there.
If we ignore hunger, that light will go out.
If we all help and work together, it will grow and burn free with the potential of tomorrow.

Later, at age 23, she wrote:

The international media and our government are not going to tell us that we are effective, important, justified in our work, courageous, intelligent, valuable. We have to do that for each other, and one way we can do that is by continuing our work, visibly.
I also think it's important for people […] in relative privilege to realize that people without privilege will be doing this work no matter what, because they are working for their lives. We can work with them, and they know that we work with them, or we can leave them to do this work themselves and curse us for our complicity in killing them.

She made no more speeches, wrote no more inspiring words at 24, or later:

But she continues to speak to us.

She is one of my heroes.

I'd like to highlight that line:
"We have to do that for each other, and one way we can do that is by continuing our work, visibly."

Don't hide your light! Let it shine.
Talk to your friends about Peace.
Talk to them about the Oneness of this Planet.

They may laugh at you.
They may call you a crackpot.
Or a dreamer.
Or a loser.
Is that too high a price for you to pay?
For World Peace and Respect among Divergent Cultures?

Others have paid a far higher price.

Thought I'd share this signature comment from the "Declaration of World Unity" petition left by the Ambassador of Ethiopia:
"Our shrinking "global village" is evolving into a multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-religious society. Indeed, we are witnessing the emergence of a global consciousness - an increasing number of people are coming to see themselves as members of one family in an interdependent universe. So it is an idea whose time has come to have a World Unity Day. Congratulation for coming with this noble initiative. Let us also focus on Golden Rule as one practical way for a better world."
Peace to all

I am passionate about never forgetting November 11th.Or letting future generations forget! World Unity Day is a good start, to help with the pain and frustration of being attacked on our beloved grounds of America. We must rise up & stand United for Peace always.Keep up the great work, Yaron.
