This is Bono my daughter's tame pheasant. He is unusual because of his silver back.

They used to shoot in the woods next to us but thankfully they don't know. My daughter has managed to tame quite a few of the wild animals over the years, at the moment she is befriending a family of pheasants, the cock eats out of her hand and lets her stroke him, his three wives are tame and come very close but do not hand feed or let themselves be stroked as yet. We are looking forward to seeing their babies.

Yesterday my son saw a fox walk right by the pheasants, within two feet, neither the fox or the pheasant were uncomfortable, they live in harmony here.

Why can't we humans.

I do not have nearly as much land as you but our 9 acres is a wildlife safe haven too. We have deer, foxes, birds of prey, owls too many to mention, also very many rare plants (wood orchids).
