View on Body art. Due to cultures and/or religions, etc.
Where I come from is not really accepted by those of a slightly older generation.
I work with children, therefore I hear people say it is a bad influence around children.
I have my own reasons for my tattoos and piercings, its not all about "looking cool" thats would be the least of reasons for me to "decorate my body".
Any comments?

I am a teacher and I have three tattoos. On the inside of my forearms it reads ONE LOVE (one word on each arm) in large letters. My younger students frequently ask what it says and what it means. I tell them that there is only One Love and we all have to share it.
They typically accept the response and pass it on to their pals. It is cool to see how much sense it makes to them.
Children openly value authenticity. They are blessed to have you and so are the people who might say negative things about it. You are giving them an opportunity to let go of their own limiting beliefs...
As least that is my story, and I am sticking to it...
one Love,

I completely agree with that. My kids dont care, it doesnt bother them. Other mentors so to speak seem to have a problem with it. Maybe they are just closeminded and have sterotypes ingrained in them. Either way I love my job.
I have had anxiety attacks myself but II dont see how that relates to piercings and tattoos. It really isnt painful. Most of any pain felt is just a matter of mind control. If you have control of your own mind, so much can change, it can be very powerful. If you go in to get a tattoo thinking oh wow this is gunna hurt than yeah it might. If you go in thinking this is going to be a great experience, it doesnt hurt. A lot of things in life are overstimulated simply but letting the mind wonder.
A lack of respect for ones body in my mind is drug abuse, selling yourself for sex and those types of things not decorating your own body. Tattoos and peircings are a form of self expression and/or art. It dates back many centuries in many cultures for a number of reasons.
Which is why there are many different cultures and religions. To me it is no different that falling and scrapping your knee, its a wound, it heals, only it stands out a little more. But thanks for the web site give me something new to read about. I think all morals are based on religious beliefs. My morals may bedifferent from yours but its most important to follow your own set of rules to live yourown life to thefullest and what makes you happy.
I believe I am a very respectful person. I resepect my life, my body. my friends, my family. To each their own but I believe it is very wrong for someone to judge another because they have different beliefs. I do not believeI am mutilating myself, I do not believe there is any disrespect at all. If my body is my temple then I am just sprucung ut up a little, decorating and truely m aking it my own. My body is more of a book, representation of my life, close family members I have lost, my beliefs, my spirituality. I have never once said it is something that everyone should do. Its a personal choice, like what shoes to wear, how to do your hair, its a person choice based on your lifes perception. I do not believe much in organized religion either but that does not make me non-respectable. Everyone should feel free to express themself in a way that is self influenced. Idont care if you are astrict catholic or you choose to worship the devil, if you like tattoos or personally dont care for them. I dont care if your white, black, purple, green, homosexual, young, old, foriegn, hairy, missing a limb. I dont care if you dont go to college,if you spend your life living in a trailor, if your a hermit. As long as you feel you are being true to yourself then you are a worthy person. My only predjudice is closemindedness. That may be wrong but thats whyI believe people should just except eachother for who they are and stop judging whats on the outside. Its the inner core of a person that matters.
Art comes in all forms as does the goodness in all of us. Body art is a form of expression for the individual, & every individual has a peaceful right to decorate their body.
thank you and i agree
Unfortunately death is something everyone has to deal with at some point in their lives. But it can be quite a learning experience as well.

Not sure whats allowed as to show and tell, or the posting of the suicide girls but I thinks it adorns my temple and enhances my character in some situations ...and i look Kool (slow easy smile)
Peace Everyone Kyla GD..and yes >>to each its own ...
If we all conform and do the same thing, this world would be a boring place. Nothing ever came from fearing what others think, and those who choose to judge should find something more productive to do with their time.
I chose the tattoos I chose for various reasons of my own. I shouldn't have to answer to anyone, or explain myself (unless you ask me what they mean to me).
As far as religion goes, it is what you believe and what you are comfortable with. I know that where we are from it's not acceptible to do much of anything. I get sneers when I tell people I rely on herbal remedies and burn incense. And that's not even strange, it's just that there are a lot of close minded people out there.
I would rather be known for who I am than who I had to fake being. If my tattoos are a problem, then turn your head and walk away, and donate a buck to a charity while you're at it!! I love the reaction I get when I tell people that I pray, or meditate, or don't eat meat, or donate. So shallow....
yes yes yes.. HAha yeah some people think Im kinda nuts for making that tea too. I love it though and its amazing shit. Expecially for insomnia, man its good. And much cheaper and healthier than buying some medication. All you need is a few herbs and hot water. Presto.
