The Thirteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution may be in Violation.

Another essay by John “Hai” Knapp, with feedback from Scott Thursby.  (used with permission).

Amendment 13:  Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime wherof the party shall be duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their
jurisdiction.

For some time I have wondered about this, does medical debts violate the 13th Amendment? Medical debts are not the result of seeing something in the store, and not the result of going crazy with credit
cards. Please don’t misunderstand me; I realize that it costs for the
healthcare providers to perform their services; I don’t expect them to do it
for free. Of course, I don’t expect the police department to do it for free,
either; though I don’t believe we should have to pay a fee at the time we
believe we need to contact the police department.

Healthcare providers are worthy of a very fair compensation. They are kind of like a police (or fire department) pursuing “bad guys” known as diseases; but this “police department” makes us pay per service. Disease
never checks to see if we have medical insurance or can afford to pay the fees.  I also fear that if they find it more
profitable to keep me sick they may do so; since it is a “business.”

Car payments, credit card payments, and house mortgage is a kind of enslavement; but it is something the person agreed on; therefore not an involuntary servitude, thus does not violate the 13th Amendment.
Debts for getting sick, on the other hand are things forced on people for
getting sick. Furthermore, they remind me of the man with a mask coming into
the bank with a gun; “hand over your money and you’ll live. Getting sick is
involuntary, and not something anybody asked for.

If it were impossible to fund USA healthcare any other way I may understand; but every other first world democracy has done a better job. HR 676 proposed by Rep. John Conyers and
forwarded by Rep. Dennis Kucinich and Sen. Bernie Sanders is expected to cost
less than what we have now. Even if it didn’t cost less we have a moral
imperative to do better.

We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal and that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness. -------Declaration of
Independence--Thomas Jefferson

The Preamble to the U.S. Constitution declares:  We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general
welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do
ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America

WITHOUT SINGLE PAYER UNIVERSAL QUALITY HEALTH CARE IT IS FUNDAMENTALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO ESTABLISH JUSTICE, INSURE DOMESTIC TRANQUILITY, AND PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE OF ALL THE PEOPLE.
THERE CAN BE NO EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TO  LIFE,
LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF
HAPPINESS WITHOUT UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE AS A PUBLIC
SERVICE.

The Declaration of Independence is the cornerstone of the Constitution of the United States; Without universal health care in today's society we are violating the
fundamental sacred tenants of our Declaration of Independence, the cornerstone
of our Constitution.

If society falls short in upholding the basic tenets of our Declaration of Independence the Constitution must be amended so that the laws of the land always reflect
the basic principals established in the Declaration of Independence:

The Constitutional Amendments number 13

Neither Slavery nor involuntary servitude shall exist in the United States.

Slavery and involuntary servitude were instantly abolished throughout the United States of America at the exact instant the majority of Judges of
the Supreme Court of the
United States of
America
voted in favor of this Amendment.

Becoming ill is an involuntary act of men and women. Millions of Americans without universal health care at this moment are pledged to work, often for the remainder of
their lives paying off their medical bills. In essence they are under
involuntary servitude to the medical establishment.

We are presently in violation of this amendment.

The Constitutional Amendment number 9 Bill of Rights:

The enumeration in the constitution of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people

Health care is an inalienable right of modern man. If you have to pay for it as an individual it is no longer a right. We are not only
in violation of the basic tenets of the Declaration of Independence but we find
ourselves in violation of Constitutional Amendments, included specifically in
the Bill of Rights of the Constitution, Constitutional Amendments number 9 and
number 13. and finally:

Constitutional amendment 6, CL.2  OF THE U.S. CONSTITUTION reads: This Constitution  and all Treaties made, or which shall be made,
under the Authority of the
United States, shall be the supreme
Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby

Charter of the United Nations

Ratified by the U.S. Senate on July 28, 1945.

The preamble states that the peoples of the United Nations have determined to
reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the
human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and
small and to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the
obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be
maintained, and to promote social progress and better standards of life in
larger freedom.

Article 25: Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the
right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability,
widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his
control

As part of the "supreme law of the land" of the United States (U.S. Const., Art. VI cl.2.) this charter enumerates the rights of individuals and duties of every nation that is a
signatory to the treaty. All levels of
U.S. Government are expected
to enforce rights guaranteed by the Charter.
The US supreme court, two
circuit courts, two district courts and one tax court have cited the UN Charter
as
U.S. law.

These amendments were added because of the previous violations and the continuing violations of the Declaration of Independence and give proof to the
argument that universal health care for all is an inalienable right of citizens
in the U.S..

We have developed an industry, in our country that takes people’s property, their futures, their dignity, their dreams and even their lives in unprecedented
numbers. We call this industry our health care system.

We hold these truths to be self evident; That the continuing violation of our civil rights as set forth under the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States and The United
Nations Charter is prolonging the suffering and the premature deaths of
untold millions. It is resulting in the ruination of American families,
both socially and economically.
By establishing a just system of health
care all aspects of  society will benefit.

UNITED STATES NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE ACT (HR 676)

This bill was developed by the best minds in medicine and economics around the world.

Single payer Universal Health Care for all Americans is now in Congress. Every citizen, and every organization needs to make their candidates accountable for voting this
bill into law. There is no middle ground on this issue. If this was 1860 you
would be voting for candidates that are either for the continuation of slavery
or for abolishing it. That is the magnitude of this issue.

Now is the time to come to the aid of your nation.

“The sacred rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for, among old parchments, or musty records. They are written with a sunbeam in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of the divinity
itself: and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power.” - Alexander
Hamilton 1775

United Nations Declaration of Human Rights

The United Nations Declaration of Human Rights which was signed by all members of the general assembly (including the USA) in 1948. The signing of
this document was obligatory for every nation which desired to participate and
be represented in the world body. The United Nations Declaration of Human

Our system of health care is outlawed in almost every country in the world. To engage in such a process in other countries it would rightly be considered racketeering.

"Among the natural rights of the colonists are these: First, a right to life; Second to liberty; thirdly, to property; together with the right to support and defend them in the best manner they
can." Samuel Adams, the father of the American Revolution.
