I just wanted to take a minute and wish all my friends here a Happy New Year. This is my favourite time of year, where I can connect with G-d, and go through all the things I have not done well or right, and make them so. It is a time for reflection, for hope, for love, for forgiveness, for gratefulness, and so many other things that I find so much comfort and joy in. Is anyone else celebrating the beginning of the Jewish New Year? What does it mean to you?

So, Sukkot started this week. This means Simchat Torah is right around the corner!!!!!! I love how during this period all these holidays connect and work hand in hand with each other, and we go from such solemness to being unabashedly joyous!! I think the best part of this holiday is how there is something to represent all 4 groups of Jews to remind us we have to be united and that each way of living is important. (the etrog for Jews who have knowledge of Torah and performance of mitzvot, the palm for Jews who have knowledge of Torah but no mitzvot, myrtle for Jews who perform mitzvot but have little knowledge of Torah, and willow for Jews who have no knowledge of Torah and do not perform mitzvot) Seriously, I cant be the ONLY one who loves this time of year!!!!!! It is all about unity, harmony........

Sunshine for everyone........Shimona
