SUMMARY:Esopus Park for Study and Reflection
DESCRIPTION:Dear friends, I want to thank you all for your support and
joining us here on mypeacetv for the World March for Peace and Nonvio
lence. The World March was a success in many ways; first and foremost
because we connected with many people from all cultures and strata aro
und the world, restoring faith in the possibility that when people wor
k together, anything is possible.\nSince the World March for Peace and
Nonviolence we have taken time to reflect on this experience of havin
g mobilized hundreds of thousands of people, the media, government and
business officials, and most importantly, the humble people at the so
cial base who worked tirelessly to give a new direction to the violenc
e transforming our difficulties towards a greater goal of peace and no
nviolence.\nNow we have launched new projects where peace and nonviole
nce can be deepened, not only in the world, but also in our lives on e
ven the most personal level, deepened to where we can build on our str
ength and transcend individualism and isolation and find our source of
inspiration and spirit within to continue our efforts. Our aim is to
express this new way of being as a model for the new historical times
where people and not monolithic institutions are the ones who show the
light to the future.\nWe have set out constructing 30 parks of study
and reflection worldwide. Places where people from all walks of life c
an gather to study and strengthen the best of ourselves, beyond politi
cs, religion, gender, and any secondary aspects, to the core of what i
nspires and moves us away from suffering and towards liberation from v
iolence and discrimination that saturates our lives and our world, our
world the world of people.\nWe are asking for those in the U.S. or an
ywhere in the world, to support the new park of study and reflection b
eing built in upstate New York, the Esopus Park for study and reflecti
on.\nAll are welcome to support the park, not only by donating to buil
d the park but also by joining our list and communicating, keeping inf
ormed, and hopefully join us in the works of retreats of study and ref
lection on how we can construct a new nonviolent world from within, an
d in the world together.\nWe have raised nearly all the money for the
park and have one week to raise 14,000 by June 15, 2010 - to be able t
o purchase the land and repair buildings on site so we can officially
open the park this summer.\nIf you would like to know more, please vis
it our site: http://www.eastcoastpark.org/\nor contact me Hope Jolles
at mypeace.tv.\nThis is an all-volunteer project and over 300 people h
ave contributed to it's fruition.\nThis park is filed 501c3 pending an
d registered with the state of New York as a nonprofit with no paid st
aff and runs solely on contributions of it’s participating supporter
s.\nThank you all for your support.\nAll the best,\nHope\n\nFor more i
