Hi Everyone,
As you may know, activists from the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement took to the streets in NYC on September 17th, in an effort to create dialogue about economic inequality and to inspire change. At the moment, hundreds of activists are still there (9/30/11 UPDATE: There are about 5000 activists there now!), despite many having been arrested. Plans for similar demonstrations across the country are manifesting (see http://occupytogether.org/).
What are Your thoughts about this movement?

IT IS WONDERFUL!!! IT IS DESPERATE!!! IT IS NEEDED!!! IT IS A THROW-BACK TO THE 60'S!!!
The question is; is it working? The fact is there has been little to no media coverage. If the tea baggers so much as sneeze, Anderson Cooper pulls up his hoodie over his head and is right on it. Calling the media out for its innaction couldn't hurt. I WISH I COULD BE THERE WITH THEM!!!
I've been saying to people since 1970
that nothing is really going to change
until we give up the habit
of demonstrating for a day or two and then going home.
The more reports I hear of protestors "digging in"
makes me feel a glimmer of hope for the states.
The founding fathers would have been proud of the folks camped out on walls street tonight.
"Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time, and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits among yourselves, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves. I intend to rout you out and by the Eternal God, I will rout you out."

(Spoken to a delegation of bankers requesting the extension of the 1832 Bank Renewal Act).
A Notice on the Occupy Together website:
"Why should there be hunger and deprivation in any land, in any city, at any table, when man has the resources and the scientific know-how to provide all mankind with the basic necessities of life?"
