Solar Energy Research Student, (January 2008 – May 2008)
Discovery Park Energy Center, Purdue University
• Simulated 1D heterostructures of solar cells that could open development of low cost and high-efficiency systems
• Designed models for a multi-junction solar cell that will perform at nearly 50% efficiency
• Endeavored to perfect top high band Gallium-Phosphorous cells needed to develop tandem cell structures
• Attended weekly lab meetings with Purdue faculty and graduate student to discuss progress
Undergraduate Researcher, (August 2007 – December 2007)
Sensor Forensics, Vertically Integrated Projects, ECE, Purdue
• Collaborated with team to create a way to differentiate an original printed document from a photocopied version
• Analyzed documents in image-processing toolbox of MATLAB
• Gathered data and computed deterioration and distortion in image quality of sample images
Research Intern, (May 2007 – August 2007)
Electronic Imaging Systems Laboratory, School of Electrical Engineering, Purdue University
• Cooperated in a team of graduate and undergrad students in designing a color-printing troubleshooting tool
• Implemented best practices for color matching between monitor display and printed output in digital printing
• Performed calibrations using X-Rite spectrophotometer and colorimeter; composed concise instruction manual
• Coordinated fun activities for a group of interdisciplinary research students spending the summer at Purdue
