MyPeace.TV

Hey everyone-

I think we all know the power of media and its influence on our thoughts, beliefs, and ways of living. I see many people working hard in different areas to contribute to the peaceful and conscious shift of our awareness. How do you think we could all join together and have a greater impact on the media? the news? the television? I feel once we open up a certain outlet- it could spread REALLY fast. Any ideas? If we all focus and ask these questions to ourselves, maybe our imaginations will collectively bring us to receive the right answers.

How do you think we could all join together and have a greater impact on the media?

Yeah, miss Mina, I'm with you.
Much better watching movies from real scenes showing people sharing love in caring for us all.
And to your prayers, I add mine: shall mankind comprehend ALL and ANY human and other, lifes, are given to us by the same only God. We are ingrate sons and He shall lead us to that fraternity we shall practice.

The whole time I was reading everyone's ideas (wonderful ideas might I add), I was thinking maybe we could get someone to report on ( if they haven't already) the links between an individual's health and what they watch and read. Then I got to Miss Mina's reply and it fit right in.

Dear My Peace Group,
How do you think we could all join together and have a greater impact on the media?
its a serious issue we all need to think about.I have the same thoughts, what i have in mind is,i don't know if it will be possible, but i believe we can achieve it.collaborating among ourselves inform off coference, seminars, workshop e.t.c.invite all active member from different country, which many of them will serve as a country director to mypeace.tv.
i believe we can achieve it when we do the right thing.
Like what my peace friend said,
One thing that is missing between the nations is communication due to the language barriers.
We must find a way to break those barriers and allow others to understand the nation's perspective to the world.

Dear Kenneth,
I think a wonderful opportunity for making an impact this year is to organise activities for The World March For Peace And NonViolence. We also have a group here on MyPeace to support this initiative and exchange ideas.

Now, many people get the wrong idea about this march. They see its name and think that it’s all about a march. But it’s about much more. It’s about weaving a whole FABRIC of activities to promote Peace, all over the World. It doesn’t matter if the actual marchers don’t come within 1,000 miles of where you are. By organising ANY activity: a talent show, a karaoke evening, a session of bingo, a day in the park with face-painting (ecological paints, please) and other activities for children, conferences, seminars - where the theme is Peace - wherever you are, you become part of the March. We’re going to make it into the biggest demonstration of public opinion the World has ever seen!

And it's important to remember that we don't have to wait until the international group sets out from New Zealand in October. Activities have already been started all over the World. The more activities we organise, the more difficult it will be for the Media to ignore the phenomenon. Make sure you call the local Press, Radio, and Television to come and cover the story (and announce it beforehand so that more people will show up). And inform that official web-site of your local efforts! You can download the official logo from their "documents" page and paint or print it onto a large sheet to use at your activities.

If you have the energy and time, you could organise an activity for every week at the same time and same place. For example, a group hug or a human chain that - every week - grows longer...

WE can make sure that Peace becomes headline news!

I have been producing, along with hundreds of others worldwide, a tv show called Words of Peace for about five years. It's been very successful in offering a message of hope to many, just by watching it on their own cable channel. The featured speaker (along with music at times) is Prem Rawat. The use of media in this way is very appealing to him and he's talked about creating something that would be acceptable to a more mainstream channel, like History or Discovery, so stay tuned if you want!

In the meantime, he's launched a new website: http://www.wopg.org

Great discussion here. So hopeful.

Aloha...I'm one for setting specific intentions...I don't resonate with the word impact...wouldn't it be more empowering to use the word inspiration...how can we "inspire" the media...as to inspire..means to be in spirit...so I know that when more of us are in spirit..all the doors will open to us to share the message we have.

I am a coach and one of my clients is a tv producer for a network show and she's growing in her awareness each day..so by me be true to myself...and folowing my passion of coaching...it ignited her spirit...how do you feel about this?

Then of course once we are in spirit...then we must take action based on what our higher guidance shares with us...that's where the challenge lies...I was guided to move to Kauai..when all of my friends and fam lived on the mainland...but I did it anyways...because I had to follow the light.

It was extremely challenging at first..coming to a rathe remote island in the pacific..knowing no one....but now spirit has led me to all the right people to connect with and we are growing in spirit...

Any thoughts???

Namaste,
Faith

Faith,
you follow the light.
I follow the light.
Where is the light?
Our spirit shall have pleasure without our body.
It does not matter where you are, as long as you express to others your love, this same one that gives, and gave, your life.
I believe follow the bright would be more productable to us all. The light is too fast and even when we learn how to travel at its speed, we still may not comprehend where did it come from.
Faith. Comprehension of God is better, and forever will remain being, than faith.
We don't have faith on hidrogens and oxigens, but we do comprehend the nature of the water. Union. Partnership, solidariety, fraternship. They do break, the molecules, but only when brought to the poit and forced, never spontaneously separeted. Never.
When your spirit leaves your body happy, it contagiants the entire surround, Faith.
Love and spread the hapiness of loving.
This is how I see from what you said about igniting your passion on your spirit.
Beautiful. You are a lovelly been.

First of all, we must all join together and demand campaign reform. We'll get nowhere, ever, without accomplishing that.

Since Reagan was President, deregulation has created this whole new world of moneyed interests--to a greater degree than ever before. One industry, especially, has been affected: mainstream media. Just a handful of wealthy Republicans own all the broadcasting companies--something that was forbidden as monopoly previously. Mainstream media (MSM) used to be manned by folks with liberal arts degrees and journalists, hence, the reputation for being "liberal" politically. This is no longer true! Yet you will still hear many old-fashioned right-wingers refer to the liberal media.

Anyway, when the protests broke out in Iran, NONE of the media carried the news! Once it was leaked on Twitter and Facebook, MSM was forced to come to terms with it--over TWO FULL DAYS LATER! This is an example of how much we don't know about if the Repugs don't want us to know about it.

Frankly, I don't know how it would be possible to influence MSM without billions of dollars to buy a portion of the networks; even the money isn't enough to get someone the privilege of ownership, though. One must be a member of the "club." MyPeace.tv isn't on the side of the war profiteers and consequently wouldn't have a chance.

Another outside possibility would be to organize big enough peace events that the MSN would be forced to cover them. I'm afraid that, after what happened in Iran, many folks would be hesitant to participate in large gatherings that might become violent not, as we well know, through any fault of the peace-loving participants themselves, but the "insurgents" from the other side who foment violence and have throughout the '60's and '70s.

We've already seen that even the new administration of hope isn't willing to keep promises about the environment and "green jobs," etc. It's sticking with Bush admin war policies, as well, and is, in fact, expanding upon them.

What we must do is make sure we vote OUT all the old, war profiteering Congress members who've been around entirely too long! We need to vote IN young, progressive reps who aren't in it for personal wealth and privilege. THEN we need to vote in term limits (HA!) AND put an end to special interest lobbying. As it is, this Congress is made up of a bunch of criminals who'll take all the bribes they can get and never do anything for the benefit of the people. Have we forgotten that this is a government OF THE PEOPLE????? Those reps are supposed to work for us . . . for our needs and wants! NOT those of the monied special interests! We'll never get anywhere playing their game as it is--it just keeps getting worse and worse for us.

There's lots of competition for our attention. And media includes the internet as well as TV, etc.. I believe the same powerful people who got the initial Wall Street bailout passed, without accountability or stipulation, and against a unanomous public outcry against, are working on stifling or clogging up the internet as they were able to do with every other form of media so far.

But, this can only happen when the large body of citizens allow it- when there aren't enough people who are active in their lives. I'm not speaking of being interested in restricting or controlling others. I refer to being awake at our own wheels and wanting to be great drivers of our own lives.

So, to me those of us who have energy and time are wanting to awaken the rest of us. And in so doing we will become aware if we are really fully awake ourselves. It is both energy and openness that will contribute. But, that isn't all. We may have to be willing to lose what we've got to prove we have the courage and honor to keep it. This is so even at the smallest level like reading the language of a contract and then refusing to sign it unless its changed. I would be honored to be gathered together with such folks anywhere, any time.

I am new to the group, but not new to the mission of bringing peace.
In any good effort, group, business or organization a key component is marketing and planning - getting the word out in an organized way. If the goals are made clear and global and suggestions on achieving the goal are outlined it makes the task more doable. For instance, there have been a ton of great suggestions, if there was a list of things that can be done big or small, individuals can pick and choose which fit their time element and life style and go for it. Maybe a regular thread reporting on your effort toward that goal could be an ongoing thing.
Just some thoughts,
Holly
